In the midst of the 2020-2021 pandemic, questions about the human species arose—about our vulnerability and the vast spaces of human imagination, about our clumsiness and our gift for flight. We like to think of ourselves as the center, yet we are but a tiny grain of sand in a cosmos spanning millions of galaxies.

Inspired by Stephen Hawking’s thinking and the writings of Lebanese author and painter Etel Adnan, H—100 seconds to midnight marks Robert Wilson’s fifth original production at the renowned Thalia Theater, which was home to his earlier works Hamletmachine (German version, 1986), Parzival : On the Other Side of the Lake (1987), The Black Rider (1990), Alice (1992), Time Rocker (1996), and POEtry (2000).
